John retired in 2025 after a multifaceted career spanning financial services technology, UNC Charlotte Alumni Affairs, and career coaching with Lee Hecht Harrison. As a Certified Business Coach through Duke University, he has supported both professionals and students through career transitions, job searches, and skill development. In Spring 2026, John returned to UNC Charlotte as a Geography student, taking Geography of Cities and reconnecting with the department’s mission. His renewed academic involvement opened the door to volunteer work with the Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Bike Advisory Committee and the Carolina Thread Trail, deepening his engagement with community planning and mobility issues. John also brings significant fundraising experience, having helped establish the Loy H. Witherspoon Greek Alumni Scholarship at UNC Charlotte and other fundraising initiatives.
