Dr. Idziorek awarded NSF grant to study Place-based, Human-centered Networks to enhance community resilience and equity.

Dr. Katherine Idziorek (co-PI), along with collaborators Chen Chen, Ph.D. (PI, Oklahoma State University) and Stephen Wong, Ph.D. (collaborator, University of Alberta) were recently awarded an NSF Disaster Resilience Research Grant (DRRG) to study Place-Based, Human-Centered Networks to Enhance Community Resilience and Equity. The research will focus on opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of micro-mobility and resilience hubs with community case studies and simulation exercises set in Seattle, WA and Stillwater, OK. The goals of the study are to identify opportunities for leveraging micromobility to enhance social network connectivity, boost community cohesion and capacity, and strengthen both community and national resilience.
