Dr. Casey Davenport receives teaching award

Congratulations to Dr. Casey Davenport, the recipient of the 2025 Bonnie E. Cone Early-Career Professorship in Teaching! This award recognizes a faculty member who has exhibited excellent teaching early in his or her career. Since joining UNC Charlotte, Dr. Davenport has distinguished herself as an engaging and innovative instructor and supportive mentor. She has contributed six new courses to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs and served as primary advisor to five PhD students, 12 Master’s students and two undergraduate honors students. Dr. Davenport also regularly publishes her pedagogical research in leading journals in her field, such as the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society. EEGS is proud to count Dr. Davenport among its faculty and celebrates her significant achievement. Dr. Davenport will hold the Bonnie E. Cone Early-Career Professorship in Teaching for three years.
