Mineralogy Visits Ray Mica Mine!

Mineralogy students hiked over Helene-era landslide deposits and downed trees to collect some amazing pegmatite samples from the historic Ray Mica Mine in Yancey County, NC. Kyanite, garnet, muscovite, and tourmaline were popular finds!
