Dr. Hammelman publishes new book on Radical Food Geographies
Dr. Colleen Hammelman, with co-authors Dr. Charles Z. Levkoe, Lakehead University, and Dr. Kristin Reynolds, The New School, published a new edited volume: Radical Food Geographies: Power, Knowledge, and Resistance (Bristol University Press). This collection presents critical and action-oriented approaches to addressing food systems challenges across places, spaces, and scales. With global case studies, it investigates the interconnections between the social and ecological dynamics of food systems and explores efforts to co-construct more equitable and sustainable food systems for all.
The book’s publication was celebrated at a hybrid book launch on September 12, 2024, at The New School in New York City. At this event, more than 100 attendees heard from the book’s editors and several chapter contributors in a participatory discussion about the book’s contents and contributions to food geographies literature and action.
