Dr. Davenport leads a group to the Southeast Severe Weather Symposium
This past week, Dr. Davenport and several of her graduate students attended and presented at the Southeast Severe Weather Research Symposium in Atlanta, GA. Below is a brief summary of each of our the presentations.
Dr. Davenport presented updates on her idealized modeling experiments investigating long-lived supercell thunderstorms.
Jasen Greco presented updates on his observation and modeling-based work regarding supercell thunderstorms interacting with stationary boundaries.
Logan Twohey presented updates on his idealized modeling work investigating the influence of complex terrain on supercell thunderstorms.
Roger Riggin presented some observation-based work to motivate an upcoming idealized modeling study to quantify influences of the Chesapeake Bay on supercell longevity and hazard production.
Jake Engelkins, a senior undergraduate in our meteorology program was also in attendance.
