Geological Society of America meeting held in Charlotte Nov 3-7

Categories: News

Many of the GES Department faculty worked hard on preparations and hosting of the successful national Geological Society of America (GSA) meeting, which was held in Charlotte from November 3-7 (http://www.geosociety.org/meetings/2012/). There were approximately 5800 attendees and by all accounts the meetings were a great success. The local organizing committee was chaired by Professor John Diemer, and many other GES faculty (Eppes, Armour, Bender, Hippensteel) played essential roles in organizing as well. GSA had tremendous volunteer participation by both GES undergraduate and graduate students, and GES faculty and students were well represented in multiple technical presentation and poster sessions.
